The QG3 Speed Internship Opportunity is for students who are currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree (or equivalent) program or are planning to transfer to a 4-year university for a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) at Santa Monica College and UCLA students. This program is for students who have a strong interest in e-Commerce sales, marketing, design and/or development. In order to participate in this internship, students must be continuing students with six (6) or more credits from the previous semester, in good standing, and have the approval of an academic advisor. You will be required to fulfill the minimum requirements to earn course credit for your school during the summer session. Days and hours are flexible.


Internships are UNPAID positions, but course credit is available.

  • Santa Monica College:

                 Orientation date: June 10, 2013

                 Internship Start date: June 17, 2013

Areas of Study:


e-Commerce Marketing:
Gain valuable knowledge of the e-marketing techniques used to drive quality traffic to websites. As an intern at QG3, you will develop strong analytical skills using the latest software while you participate in the development of online marketing strategies for our e-Commerce website. You will gain real-world experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing and Database Segmentation. Everyday tasks may include Content Strategy, syndication and development on a popular CMS (such as Wordpress or Drupal), product updates on the most innovative e-Commerce shopping carts, and various blog/article syndication networks.

Account Management and Client Relations:
At QG3, you will learn what it takes to manage a successful e-Commerce website. You will gain valuable experience with state-of-the-art e-Commerce platforms and content management systems. You may have direct contact with our clients as you improve your skills in relationship management and work with our business development team to offer clients the latest website technology required to compete in today's online marketplace.

Business Development & Sales:
Engage in real-world sales techniques as you prospect for leads and find opportunities for additional business with our existing customers. You will gain valuable experience throughout the entire sales cycle at an e-Commerce business and discover the many components of a profitable e-Commerce website. You will build your resum? with the research you perform, as well as create Powerpoint presentations which are used in actual sales meetings. At QG3 Speed, we will help you hone your communication skills and teach you how to negotiate externally with new prospects and internally to gain buy-in to your ideas.

Online Technology:
Gain experience in maintaining the backend of an e-Commerce website. You will do hands-on work with e-Commerce platforms, Content Management Systems and HTML. You will also be involved in the strategic aspects of developing an e-Commerce website, including wireframes, writing technical specifications, and performing quality assurance throughout the development process. Work hands-on with our Information Architects and learn the ins and outs of User Interface Design and the custom website solutions we provide for our clientele.





  • Use Excel to create, edit and maintain product data
  • Adapt data to AutoAnything style guides
  • Research products and vehicles in order to ensure data accuracy
  • Contact vendors to troubleshoot data discrepancies
  • Maintain departmental records of progress and completed work
  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Shift between product priorities quickly as needed
  • Provide backup support to escalated product-related issues
  • Coordinate with other departments on a variety of projects
